I am from Ipswich, QLD but have lived all over Australia. I came to live at Orana Aged Care about 12 months ago in November. I had two cats, Marmalade and Toulouse. Marmalade was my best friend and he passed away, then Toulouse passed away before I moved into Orana. I miss them both a lot.

Fortunately, I continue to have wonderful experiences with pets at Orana. Pippa is a special dog; she is so cute and happy! You need to see and feel the energy she brings to the residents and staff around her. Residents line up for a pat and can’t wait to see her each day and the way she chases the ball around the activities room brings a smile to all the residents’ faces and brightens their day.
I believe pets should be allowed in aged care facilities, but I also understand that it would be hard for the others around me if something was to happen to me.
